Privacy

Last updated: 2026-05-10

yapyep is built around a simple privacy posture: your dilemmas are personal-feeling, so they never leave your device. The model that argues about them runs entirely in your browser. This page explains what we do and don't collect.

What stays on your device

The dilemma you type, the comic strip the squad produces, and any verdict are all generated locally by an in-browser language model. None of that text is sent to a server — not ours, not anyone else's. The only thing your browser fetches from the network is the model's weight files, which are anonymous static assets.

Third-party scripts

If you accept the cookie banner, yapyep loads Google Analytics (aggregate event counts only — no dilemma text) and Google AdSense (which serves the ads you see). If you decline, neither loads at all and nothing is reported. You can change your mind any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

What's stored locally

Your consent decision (accept / decline) is stored in your browser's localStorage so we don't ask again. The model's weight files are cached in IndexedDB by the runtime so the next visit is instant. Neither leaves your device.
